This Sunday if the Lord says the same, Galilee will celebrate God for 51 years of His faithfulness to our congregation. Galilee is a relatively young church and has a very colorful yet godly and great history. At one time the church was down to group of about 5 people. This small group of comitted believers were gathering to discuss closing Galilee and joining in with a local neighboring church. The decision had been made but on the day of the final meeting a couple of the members in that group decided that they would continue to trust God for the future of the Galilee Baptist Church of Shawnee. The lord honored that act of faith and in just a few years the church grew and even expanded. What a testimony!!!!
Many of those members prayed that God would continue to bless his people and the church. They gave of their meager means and trusted God to multiply the resources of the church. God proved, as He always does, to be faithful!
Sunday we will take the time to reflect and worship God for His faithfulness to our church and for using some comitted Christians, many of which we may never know, who worked at prayer and sacrificing and helped to build the spiritual legacy of our church. Their dreams are now our reality!!!!!
