The Healing Power of Our God

Early Sunday morning about 2:30 a.m. I awoke from sleep with a dreadful pain in my side. I knew immediately what it was. It was another Kidney Stone. For those who have ever had to deal with this almost death blow, you know the pain. It is sharp, immense, intense, agonizing and can literally bring you to tears. I tried everything I could to find relief but the pain just would not go away. Finally I awoke my wife and told her to take me to the emergency room. And for the record, I don't know which is worse, the pain of a kidney stone or the pain of having to die a slow death in the emergency room. However, Mercy Hospital, my favorite hospital, has emergency room waiting down to an art and they were able to get me to a doctor in less than an hour. The nurses and doctor scheduled an xray and sure enough what they saw was another kidney stone.
The doctor gave me some pain and nausea medicine and told me that where the stone was located it would soon pass. He informed me to go home and rest and wait for the stone to pass. While I was awaiting to see the doctor I was praying that the Lord would grant healing and relief and He did. He worked through a great hospital with loving nurses and staff and a wise Doctor to bring about this miraculous healing.
The doctor wanted me to stay home but I wanted to preach. I had one last Stewardship message I had been working on (Acts 4:32-37 "The Profile of A Giving Church") and I desperately wanted to preach!! I told the doctor I was going to church.....I didn't tell him I was going to preach.....but I did and the Lord gave me the power to make it through. It was another great day at Galilee.
I arrived to join in for the last 10 minutes of our Corporate Prayer time....I love this time! Our small groups met and were well attended. Our choir did an excellent job and I just felt God the whole time while preaching. One was added to the church and we shared from the Lord's Table. ....Wow....what more could a Pastor ask for?

Shout out to Rev. Ted Curtis for being prepared and ready to preach. Thanks Ted...your faithfulness is priceless!!!!!!

Thank you Lord for being faithful and blessing us. You are truly High and Lifted Up and worthy of our praise.

To God Alone Belongs the Glory!!!!!
